DANCE EDUCATION

Which training programme is the right one?

Before you decide on a training programme, you should gather information. Nowadays, there are many training schools that differ greatly in terms of their content and focus, but also in terms of quality. It is therefore important to find out in detail about the content and objectives beforehand, to watch videos of the work of the respective school and, best of all, to get to know the school and the lessons in person beforehand. If you are interested, we would like to invite you to spend a few days watching our lessons on site!

Requirements

Important factors of professional dance as a profession are! Artistic talent, creativity and the courage to open up and communicate through dance. Furthermore, we understand dance as a craft in which the body is the instrument. Training requires physical dexterity and motor skills.
Professional dance is a competitive sport and, as with any competitive sport, you can only become a professional if you are physically fit and have been practising dance since childhood or adolescence.
You should have previous dance training in at least one of the three dance styles, modern/contemporary, jazz or classical ballet.

Training structure

At the beginning, the basics and basic techniques of the various dance styles are taught. From the second year onwards, the technical requirements are increased. The modern developments of the individual dance styles are developed.
From the second year onwards, we work towards professional stage work. Repertoire work, rehearsing new choreographies and regular performances. Important criteria for a later career on stage are learnt. These include professional collaboration in rehearsals, social behaviour within the group, behaviour on and behind the stage and the development of self-confidence, creativity and the ability to express oneself.
From the second year onwards, dance pedagogy adds theoretical and practical pedagogical knowledge.

Training objective

The objectives can be divided into three criteria: Development of dance technique, musicality and expression. Dance technique includes strength, dynamics, stamina and flexibility, as well as dance style-specific elements such as turns, lines, spins, jumps, suspension and isolation. Musicality means the correct sequence of movements to the music, but also recognising and implementing the accents, style and mood of the music. The quality of the dance is reflected in the great variability of the styles mastered.
Dance expression is shown through the face, body and movement dynamics. It is important to understand what is being danced.
